Configuring phpBMS
The configuration screen allows users with administrative access to apply settings set for the entire phpBMS application. It includes settings for the phpBMS core, as well as the BMS module and any other modules installed that have configurable settings.
Accessing the configuration screen
- You must be logged in as a user with administrative access.
- Choose the configuration item form the settings menu.
After making modifications, make sure and remember to click the "update settings" button to commit the changes. Changing some setting may require users to re-login to the system.
General Settings
Application Name
This sets the name shown at the top of the application and the top of the login screen.
Recommendations for the name include "the name of your business" plus "BMS" or just the name of your business.
Modifying the name of the application also resets the cookie name used in the browser. As a result, you will need to log in again after changing the name.
Record Display Limit
This defines the maximum number records shown on search screen before it breaks results into multiple pages. Setting this to a high number will slow processing time, and increase the amount of information sent to the browser.
Default Main Page
This records the page that phpBMS navigates to after logging in. You can enter the URL link (relative to the phpBMS application root) here. By default, phpBMS navigates to the snapshot page (modules/base/snapshot.php).
Style Sheet Set
This defines the set of style sheets used by the phpBMS application.
Company Information
Company information is used in various areas of phpBMS, mainly for client interaction in printed documents, and e-mails sent by the system to clients.
Company Name, Address, & Phone Number
This defines the textual information printed on reports.
print logo
This defines the graphic to be used on PDF print outs. The graphic will print at a maximum size of 1.75" x 1.75" (although it does not need to be square)
The graphics should be in PNG or JPEG format. Using the PNG format, the graphics must be an 8-bit (256 colour) non-interlaced PNG.
When uploaded properly, the graphic should show in the window above the upload graphic area. You made to force a reload of the page to flush your browser cache so that the graphic reloads correctly.
