Access the My Account Page
On logging into your phpBMS system:
1. Scroll over the "System" option in the top menu
2. Choose "My Account" from the drop down menu.
Change Your Password
Default phpBMS installation automatically assigns your admin account a password, this leaves your system unsecured. To take a step in protecting your sensitive information, you should change your password. The second section on your My Account page is "Change Password".
1. Type in your previous password (or the system assigned password if you are the administrator and this is your first time changing your password after installing the program) into the box "old password".
2. Type in your new password in the "New Password" box. For a more secure passwords be sure it is unique (i.e. not the same one you use for your email or any other accounts), and includes at least one capital letter and number.
3. Reenter the password EXACTLY the same way, capitalization and all, in the "retype new password" field
4. Write it down somewhere safe if you are prone to random bouts of amnesia or drinking binges.
5. Press the "Change Password" button. You will receive notification at the top of your screen "Password Updated" if your password has been updated successfully.
Update Contact Information
If you need to update your email and phone contact information, or if you have not yet added the information to your account after your initial installation, you will want to scroll down to the third section on your My Account page is "Contact Information" (Below "Name" and "Change Password").
1. Add your email and phone number in the respected fields. Emails should follow the format name@… and phone numbers XXX-XXX-XXXX.
2. Press "Update Contact Information". You will receive notification at the top of your screen "Contact Information Updated" if your contact information has been updated successfully.
