Access the Product Categories Page

On logging into your phpBMS system:

1. Scroll over the "Product" option in the top menu

2. Choose "Product Categories" from the drop down menu.

Creating a New Product Category

You should now see the Products Category search page. There are two main sections to this page, the first is the light blue area on top complete with tabs reading "basic", "advanced", "load search", etc. The second is the table below that with "id", "name", and "date created" columns.

1. Select the plus sign button situated on top of the table section. If you are having problems finding it, hover you mouse over the page elements until you find the tooltip that pops up reading "new record".

2. A new page, the Product Category form will load. This page has four major areas: Name, Description, Web and Attributes. The web section is relevant if you are configuring your phpBMS program to integrate with external programs. For now lets focus on the Name and Description attributes.

3. Enter your new Product Category name into the field marked "Name".

4. Enter your new Product Category description into the field marked "Description".

5. Choose the "save" button from the left hand side. You will receive notification at the top of your screen "Record Created" if your password has been updated successfully.

Editing a Preexisting Product Category

1. From the table on the main Product Categories page, highlight the category you would like to edit.

2. Select the pencil button immediately to the right of the button with the plus sign at the top of your table.

3. Edit the fields as desired

4. Choose the "save" button from the left hand side. You will receive notification at the top of your screen "Record Updated" if your password has been updated successfully.

Deleting a Preexisting Product Category

1. From the table on the main Product Categories page, highlight the category you would like to edit.

2. Select the button with the negative sign on it, immediately to the right of the pencil button at the top of your table.

3. A pop-up will ask you to confirm if you wish to delete this category, choose yes if so.

4. You will receive notification at the top of your screen "1 Record Deleted" if your password has been updated successfully.
